Our Dream

Hi everyone!

Many of you have known us for years. Some of you know a little about us, and some know our story well. But I wanted to take a moment to share how Gypsy’s Gait Stables began, the incredible horses who have shaped us, and the amazing riders and families who have become part of our journey.

Gypsy’s Gait Stables started with a homeschooled, horse crazy, painfully shy little girl who was given the greatest gift her parents could have ever given her: an unbroken, pigeon-toed little Mustang mare who didn’t even like to be touched.

The perfect first horse for a kid… right?

That little red mare taught me more life lessons than I could have ever imagined. She taught me work ethic because horses still have to eat even when the weather is bad. She taught me to get back up when I fell off… and I fell off a lot, usually at least once every ride, until she learned to spook a little less and trust a little more.

She taught me how a horse truly chooses their person, and how together you can heal parts of yourself you didn’t even know were broken. She taught me about that magical bond that is impossible to explain, but every horse person understands without a single word.

The day I walked into that pasture and Gypsy wrapped her head around me in her signature hug, I just knew.

We were meant to be together.

Since then, my goal has been simple: to give every horse Gypsy’s dream, and to give every horse crazy kid, and adults too, the opportunity to experience the kind of unconditional love that Gypsy gave me.

One of my favorite quotes says, “All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.” I believe that with my whole heart.

Over the years, we’ve been blessed with so many once-in-a-lifetime horses. Some have come from difficult pasts. Some have been loved their whole lives. Others have stories somewhere in between. They arrive tired, hungry, uncertain, or carrying a few quirks of their own.

And then something beautiful happens.

They find their person or sometimes an entire posse of adoring riders. They are loved, healed, and reminded that they matter.

Once their hearts begin to heal, those same horses pour that love right back into the humans who need it most.

They teach us that it’s okay to be frustrated. We can learn to manage our emotions.

It’s okay to be little. I will stand here all day.

It’s okay to be scared. We can do it scared anyway.

It’s okay to be nervous. We’ll figure this out together.

It’s okay to win ribbons.

It’s okay if you simply make it into the ring.

You are enough.

You are loved.

And together we’ll grow stronger, chase dreams, and ride off into our own beautiful sunsets.

Over the years, I’ve learned to trust God’s timing. When He opens a door, you say yes and go along for the ride. There is so much peace in knowing He is in control of our chaos, and somehow He makes it beautiful.

To me, horses are one of the greatest examples of God’s love. They are patient, forgiving, honest, and full of grace. We simply want to share that gift with anyone willing to experience it.

As we’ve grown and changed over the years, we’ve been blessed to love so many incredible riders. They truly become family. Whether they move to another barn, grow up and head off to college, take a break from riding, become grand champions in the biggest show rings, or even start lesson barns of their own, they will always have a place here.

We believe there is room in the horse world for all of us.

We want to support our entire equestrian community, encourage one another, celebrate each other’s successes, and give back to the people who have given so much to us.

That brings us to where we are today.

If you’ve ridden in our area, you know our weather doesn’t always cooperate. Rain, extreme heat, and winter weather often put a stop to our weekly horse therapy, not just for our barn, but for riders throughout our community.

We hate seeing our students miss the horses they love.

So we’ve decided it’s time to dream a little bigger.

Our goal is to build a covered riding arena with attached stalls where our horses can stay safe, comfortable, and dry during bad weather. This space would allow our riders to continue lessons year round, give our show teams the opportunity to train consistently like the athletes they are, and provide a safe, affordable place where our local equestrian community can haul in to ride.

We especially want it to be a place where 4-H members and youth riders can continue learning and growing without asking for their entire allowance just to spend time with their horses.

The horse world has become incredibly expensive. Hay prices continue to rise. Veterinary care is more costly than ever. Simply caring for our herd of deserving rescue horses has become a challenge we know so many barns are facing.

Even so, our mission has never changed.

We want to continue providing quality horsemanship, exceptional instruction, rescued horses with meaningful jobs, and an affordable place where people can experience the healing only horses can offer.

Today, we’re asking our community for help.

If I’m being honest, asking isn’t easy for me. But I’ve been blessed with some incredible people in my life who have reminded me that it’s okay to let others be part of something bigger than ourselves.

This arena isn’t just for Gypsy’s Gait Stables.

It’s for every child who finds confidence in the saddle.

Every adult who finds peace after a hard week.

Every rescue horse waiting for someone to believe in them.

Every family that has found a second home in our barn.

If our story has ever touched your life, if one of our horses has ever made you smile, or if you simply believe in what we’re building, we would be so grateful for your support. Whether you donate, share our story, volunteer your time, or simply pray for this dream, you are helping create a place where horses continue changing lives for generations to come.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us, believing in our horses, and believing that healing can happen one ride at a time.
